and worst of enemies! What is it about siblings? I know it's not just mine, as all my friends with multiple children tell me that it's basically the same story, different house. Before dinner there was whining, crying, yelling, screaming, and no getting along whatsoever. Once dinner was on the table, the story changed, as quick as the flip of a coin. Ryan was the daddy and Kaity was the baby. He is trying to feed her dinner via the train method. They finish up and move on. Roll reversal. Now Kaitlyn is the mommy and Ryan is the baby. She carries him to the bathroom, brushes his teeth, and gets him ready for bed. She tucks him in and gets him a book. When I ask if I can read to him or if he wants Kaitlyn to, he choses her. I sit in the quiet living room surrounded by laundry I am trying to ignore until they are asleep and enjoy a glass of wine and the sound of my children playing pretend and giving me a "night off." It warms my heart when Kaitlyn is so sweet and kind to him. And I know it makes him feel so special too, as he wants to be just like her.
As I sit here typing this, they start getting silly, as Ryan isn't into his pjs yet, even though I thought he was. She is changing his "stinky diaper" and putting pjs on him. I am thinking I may have to intervene, but just as I start to think about putting the computer down and getting up, she tucks him back in bed and starts reading him another book. So sweet. This often happens right before bed, when they are supposed to be going to sleep or during quiet time. It makes it so hard for me to split them up when they are playing so nicely together. I think it might be a kid conspiracy. :) Gotta run and smooch on my kids. They're saying prayers together and there is NO WAY I'm gonna let them make me miss out on snuggle time and kisses. :)
