Well, we've made it through our first week with not nearly as many tears as I thought there would be. On Friday I woke up feeling back to my good ol' self. I am sure there will be more days down the road where the sorrow hits, but for right now things are good. I am staying busy and that is the key I think. As it is, I can't believe a week has already passed. We have gotten into a routine and have gotten used to the "new normal." Unfortunately, it really isn't that much different that the old routine with Bill gone as much as he had been. My house stays cleaner though. Probably because I don't have him to hang out with at night. I love the clean, but miss the man. :)
I have been able to talk with Bill daily since he has been gone with the exception of Saturday, which actually worked out since I was working a craft show all day. I think the hardest part about him being gone right now is that I can't just pick up the phone when I want to hear his voice and I don't know when the next time he will get a chance to call will be. They start flying out there this week to learn how to train the rest of the squadron, who will be leaving the end of this week.
The small group of girls whose husbands went early have been keeping busy and hanging out a good bit. The day the rest of the squadron deploys I will be having everyone over here again to offer a distraction for the gals who will be going through what we went through last week. We also have a bunch of stuff planned for the next several months which should make the time fly. We are so blessed to have each other and be a part of such a great group of gals. It is sure to make the time fly by faster.
Unfortunately, Murphy's Law of Deployments and TDYs hit our home last night and after coming home from a b-day/ADVON party, Kaity fell asleep and woke up covered in puke. Horrible. Both for her and me. Turns out Ryan ended up getting sick too, but not nearly as bad. Could have been from the diet cherry pepsi he stole. Another story for another blog. It really was funny. I told Bill when he called this morning and his response was, "Well that didn't take long after I left." He knows the drill. I kept Kaity home from school and, naturally, she was fine. So was Ry. She was so sad this evening knowing that she missed school, but before I put her to bed she said she had fun at home with me. Makes me wish she didn't go 5 days a week. She will be there tomorrow and will be going to snack pack and I will be going to Florence to shop with no kids. We are both very excited!

hey girl-
i had forgotten all about this little trip, just before the upcoming big trip....yuck. you nailed it when you said there isn't a whole lot of difference when they're gone since they work so much, but at least you get to pick up after them in the evening. hang in there and take some time to do/learn something just for you that you wouldn't have time for when B is around. love and miss you!
